A seed is a number or string of characters that determines how your Minecraft world is generated. The same seed always produces the same world, making it easy to share interesting worlds with friends.
1. Enter your seed in the input field at the top of the tool.
2. Select your Minecraft version.
3. The Overworld map loads automatically — biomes and structures are shown right away.
4. Toggle specific structures on or off using the Features panel.
While in-game, press T to open the chat, type /seed and press Enter — the game will display your world's seed.
The tool shows villages, strongholds, ocean monuments, ancient cities, trial chambers, ruined portals, pillager outposts, woodland mansions, and more. Available structures depend on the selected game version.
Scroll your mouse wheel or use the ± buttons to zoom in and out. Click and drag to pan around. Enter X/Z coordinates in the search box to jump directly to a specific location on the map.
Yes! The tool lets you generate shareable deep links and screenshots of the map, so you can share your findings with other players on your server.
Check the following: (1) You entered the correct seed with no extra spaces. If the seed is negative, make sure to include the minus sign. (2) You selected the correct version — the one your world was originally created in. If you started on an older version, switch between versions in the tool.
Yes, the seed map runs in the browser on any device — desktop, tablet, or smartphone — with no downloads required.
Java Edition versions from 1.18 and above are supported. Always select the version your world was created in to get accurate biome and structure locations.
That's up to you. Some players enjoy discovering the world through exploration, while others prefer to plan ahead. The seed map is simply a planning tool — how you use it is entirely your choice.
Biomes are very accurate, though shorelines of rivers and oceans may not follow biome boundaries exactly. Structure positions are accurate to within a few blocks, but some structures may be missing from the map. Java Edition structure finding is highly reliable due to well-documented generation algorithms.
It searches for a brand-new seed matching criteria you set — pick biomes and structures (e.g. Plains + Village), and it scans random seeds for ones where those features actually appear near spawn.
Seed Map Viewer shows the map for a seed you already have. Seed Finder works the other way: you set your desired conditions (biome, structure, radius, edition), and it finds a seed that matches them.
Use the search box and list in the BIOMES and STRUCTURES panels. Click an item to select it (multiple selections allowed). Clear resets a panel instantly.
The search distance in blocks from spawn (0, 0). Presets: 750, 1500, 3000, 6000. Smaller radius = closer result, but fewer seeds qualify.
It controls search thoroughness. Fast checks fewer variations for quicker results. Slower modes (if available) check more seeds for better odds, at the cost of speed.
Up to 100 random seeds per click of Find seeds, as shown in the summary line. Run it again for a fresh batch if needed.
Try removing a criterion, increasing the radius, or simply running the search again — each run checks a new random batch.
Yes. All active criteria appear as tags in the summary bar, and the tool looks for a seed matching all of them at once.
Yes, both. The two editions generate different worlds from the same seed number, so pick the edition you actually play on.
Biome placement is very accurate; structures are accurate to within a few blocks. A few structures may occasionally not generate exactly as predicted.
